Let’s face it. Bridal gowns are expensive and, for many brides, one of the biggest parts of the budget. All brides want the perfect dress that will make their wedding day the shining moment in their lives. Certainly this bridal gown will be the most expensive dress most women will ever purchase. With a little work brides can still get the dress they want if they find a way to get bridal gown discounts.

The first place to start is to read the local papers regularly. Most bridal shops offer discounts on their wedding dresses several times a year. If the bride has a year to plan the wedding, she will find that with the changes of the seasons, most bridal shops will offer bridal gown discounts so that they can move out-of-season wedding dresses. If you have a wedding in the fall, watch for spring sales. These spring bridal gown discounts for the fall dresses will allow a bride to get a very expensive dress at very low prices. Sometimes the discounts can be as much as fifty to seventy-five per cent off.

If the dresses are still in the store after June or July, these beautiful dresses could be on a fifty dollar rack. I know that sounds amazing, but it can happen. You simply have to watch and wait. Sometimes, the waiting game can be bothersome, but getting bridal gown discounts isn’t for the faint of heart.

Another way to get a discount on your wedding dress is to ask all of your bridesmaids to buy their gowns from the same shop. If you have a large group of bridesmaids, that means a huge amount of money for the shop. If you are too embarrassed to ask for the discount, ask your wedding planner or your mother to ask for bridal gown discounts. Most store owners faced with a possible huge loss will at least offer twenty per cent off. If the dress is very expensive, even twenty per cent is big money.

Sometimes when you visit Bridal Shows, bridal shops will give out cards with bridal gown discounts to lure you into their shops. I don’t know about you, but I do love a discount card or coupon. Take the coupon with you when you go looking for your wedding dress. If you are lucky enough to find the dress of your dreams, you have an instant bridal gown discount.

Some people think that trying to get discounts is tacky. Personally, I think getting discounts is smart shopping. If you can save money on the dress, you can use the extra money for other important wedding budget items. Looking for bridal gown discounts is not difficult. Even if you go to a shop and find a gorgeous dress you can still ask for a discount. It never hurts to ask. What do you have to lose?
